We chose this cruise to celebrate our 10 year anniversary. We typically cruise with our kids (ages 15 & 17) so this was a new experience for us. With that being said, we are used to a LOT of action having teenagers around and typically cruise on larger ships. Although very relaxing, I found myself very ready to get off the ship when we were in port. Many of the passengers were much more seasoned cruisers who were very eager to share their stories of past cruises and complain about the few children that were on the ship. The service was very good and the ship was beautiful. Tastefully decorated without the garish neon of many ships it was simply elegant and classy. We had breakfast delivered to our cabin each morning and were able to enjoy sitting on our balcony and start each day with coffee and eggs. Loved it! Overall, the food on the ship was very good. Not much to do later in the evening. If you are looking for a quiet, relaxing experience then HAL can deliver.
We are booked on another cruise with our kids for springbreak 2017 on Royal Caribbean and I am looking forward to the loud music and chaos these last few years with the kiddos will bring us:-)
We stayed at the Hilton on the marina and walked to restaurants and shopping. In past cruises we have gone to the beaches. This is my favorite port to cruise from.
I need to go back!!! Clear beautiful water, white powdery sand! Who doesn't love that???
We did an excursion to the local town a plantation that provided lunch. It was just ok. I heard the waterfalls excursion was fantastic so next time I think we will go that route.
