This was our second cruise, and both have been with RCCL, with the first being on the Enchantment of the Seas, both relatively small liners.
RCCL does an excellent job in properly preparing your before getting starting, therefore making embarkation and disembarkation smooth and easy.
We wanted to arrive in San Juan early enough to do an excursion or tour around, but flights from our area (Toronto) appeared to have been available the night before or night on the day of cruise.
CABIN - As for the cabin, we had cabin 9594, adjoining room (9596) with our daughters. It was located right in the middle of the ship, close to the stairs and the open area overlooking the rest of the floors. Was afraid of the possibility of noise, but to our surprise, no noise at all. The size of the cabin was expected, excellent size balcony, safe work, plenty of space in closet and drawers. The mini frig however didn't seem to keep our drinks cold.
The BIGGEST complaint I had with our room was the temperature; it just would not get cold enough for me. I perhaps got an average of 2-3 hours of sleep a night, which just was not enough. The staff did everything they could to accommodate, sent service guy out 2 times, offered another room, but determined it they are regulating air to only get so cool, it wouldn't have made a difference, plus the room offered was so far away from our daughters. If I wouldn't have spent so much money for the cruise, I would have flown home upon arrival at first port, but stuck it out. The only saving grace was our room attendant, Oscar. I asked if he could locate a fan to help at least try and cool things down, and "bless his soul" he was able to find one. If it wasn't for that, my whole cruise would have been a bust.
Just did some shopping right outside of port.
Just saw from airport to dock.
