It seems that Carnival has built a big ship but understaffed it and did not allow any extra amenities. Still only 4 buffet lines and the dining room that we ate in only held 700 people and was a single story. When we spoke to the Maitre de Ken he didn't like the ship and was transferring to the Pride. In fact of all the staff I spoke with NOT ONE LIKED THE .CARNIVAL VISTA. He also shared that there were more people on anytime dining then scheduled because of the dining room size.. Multiple times there were tables full of dirty dishes and well as messes on the floor. We rode an elevator that Fruit Loops were split. Two hours later we rode the same elevator and the mess was still there. On another night someone had gotten sick in an elevator and we had the same experience as with the Fruit Loops 2 hours still there. I took pictures and posted them to the Carnival facebook page which resulted in the same pictures sent to the ship. I did receive a call from the guest services manager to apologize but the situation did not get better. The wait staff had between 30 and 40 guests to serve. It definitely wasn't a dining experience just a hurry up, serve and move on. Never had I seen 2 entrees put on the table in front of the same person but it happened nightly on this cruise. It didn't have the Carnival feel everything was very closed in and was very plain. Carnival, trying to keep up with the other lines Mega Ships, has failed to adequately provide the same level of service to their guest nor have they increased the dining options to be able to handle the increased guest totals. There were 4887 people on the Vista this sailing. More cabins more alternate pay dining options but the regular amenities have been over looked. I have a lot to compare to as I have been on 24 cruises and an Platinum with Carnival. The theatre held less people then it could serve on the boat for the shows. I love Carnival.but hate the direction they took this ship.
