This was the fifth cruise with Carnival for my wife and myself. First time on the Triumph with a total group of ten. The boat itself looks great for its age. You have to understand that the ocean and salt are very unforgiving, so the reviews stating how bad of shape the boat is in is ridiculous. We never felt that anything was dirty or there was a lack of maintenance. Also, you must remember that this a "city on water". Things happen, hopefully you won't be the unlucky one. With 5000 people total on board including employees, there is bound to be a problem here and there, but we never experienced or heard of any while on board. The entertainment was awesome in most areas. Karaoke was fun each night. The comedy shows were 50/50. And I don't mean half good half bad necessarily. There is awkwardness in trying to make a comedian do a "Clean" version of their show, followed by an "adult" version later. The clean shows we attempted to watch were "bombs". The comedians were obviously not comfortable with being held back. Probably would be best to do the later show only and have some other type of entertainment available in that time slot for families. Another thing on the entertainment side, why do they not use the main stage/auditorium area each night for the "Vegas Style" shows? There was a couple of nights after dinner that we shot to the Rome Main Lounge to find out they were getting ready for bingo or some other festivity instead of a bigger production show? That was strange to us compared to our past cruises. Yet, they would try to stuff everyone in an extremely smaller area to do a big show. Perplexing. Entertainment everywhere else on the ship was great fun. Good music everywhere you go. Our room steward did a great job. Our dining room host, Edgar, was AMAZING! He made us laugh through the whole cruise. Embarkation wasn't bad, but we paid for Faster To Fun only to have to sit and wait for an hour and a half for the boat port authority to release the boat for boarding. They should have given a credit to those who paid for that. Everyone got on at the same time. Not fair. I would definitely go again .

Cabin 6A

Excellent room. It is next to attendants room so from time to time there was some noise of things being moved around, but no big deal. I like being right next to elevators and stairs in case of emergency. Steward did a great job on the room each day. Very happy.

Port Reviews

New Orleans

Awesome city with great history. Must do Cafe Du Monde, Palace Cafe, and Brennans. Also, there is nothing like drinking a Hurricane while walking down Bourbon Street. "I bet I could tell you where you got your shoes..." LOL Go there and you'll understand.
