We were looking for a Christmas cruise.
Would be unlikely to use P&O again after our experience on this ship.
Ship was old but quite Ok. Cabin staff and reception were fantastic and extremely friendly and helpful. The cabin was dated but we still found it comfortable. The windows were filthy and my husband asked the bosun if they could be cleaned but because they were so bad cleaning made little difference. Entertainment was average except for the comedian on the last night and the Marquee showroom was really dated and uncomfortable. Bar staff were unhappy, rude and unhelpful. Two bars side by side which served different draft beers/ciders and it was easier to go next door to get what you wanted yourself than suffer the eye rolling of the drink waiter. Plantation closed totally after breakfast, after lunch then at 9pm at night. Waterfront Restaurant staff were mediocre as was most of the food served except breakfast which was great.
it was a very pretty island but on the whole food and drinks were outrageously expensive.
i am biased as Sydney is my home town. We took a taxi from Central station to White bay cruise ship terminal
Again a pretty but much less expensive than Isle of Pines. Walk around and you can find cheaper pricing for everything. Public toilets were cleaned after every person who used them.
Got a water taxi into town where we shared a taxi for the day with other people Great trip around and very helpful driver/impromptu guide. $100 for the day but everyone gave a substantial tip.....well worth it. some lovely places to visit.
Bought hop on hop off bus ticket but it did not go very far Found it very expensive.
