We loved our pre-Christmas cruise on the Carnival Glory. We drove to Miami from Virginia. It was my husband and I and our 15 and 16 year old kiddos. We arrived a little earlier then we expected so therefore we embarked earlier then we expected. That was great!! Our cabin was the perfect size for the 4 of us. Plenty of room in the bathroom for all of our toiletries, more than enough closet space, comfy beds and pillows, and LOVED the balcony. The kids caught the flu about halfway thru our cruise so housekeeping didn't come in as mush as they normal would have. I didn't want them to get sick. We ate in the dining room a few times and ate at the buffet most of the time. We weren't thrilled with the choices in the dining room (American tradition) and we all thought most of it was boring. The waiter Ali and his helpers Yonathan and J? were super nice though. We loved our cruise director Eric. He has tons of energy and was super fun to watch.
We enjoyed the 2 excursions we took. Both booked through Carnival. In Grand Cayman we took a glass bottom boat ride with a trip to a sea turtle farm and to the tiny town of Hell. In Belize our originally planned excursion was canceled due to high water so we went to see Mayan ruins instead. My son LOVED it. We did have one specific complaint about the port experience itself. We didn't like the enclosed tourist trap feel of most of the ports. We want to see the truth, the reality of the places we visit. I understand that there will be venders and stuff in those kind of tourist areas, but felt trapped in the port and the only way to see anything was to pay for an excursion.
Disembarkation and tendering was super easy too.
GREAT
Hung at the beach in the enclosed tourist area. Restaurant SUPER expensive
