For our first cruise, it was okay. But I will try a different cruise line next time, if there is a next time. I chose this cruise because it sailed when I needed and from the port I needed. The only other ship was Carnival and it was the "poo" ship. Not going to happen. I was a nervous wreck trying to get information to book, how, where. The whole procedure. Anyway, we got to the port, parking was robbery, (for me anyway) $20.00 a DAY! You pay when you leave your car, they only took credit or debit.

I was impressed with the ships size, however, it wasn't a big ship, held around 2300 passengers. I traveled with two teenage sons. Apparently Norwegian and other lines I have found out, don't have the same activities on each ship even though on their web site they show several activities that may or may not be on your ship. I thought there would be more for them to do, since we would have two full days on the water, I was needing a ship that would be more for them. This was not that ship. They had a few activities for them, but nothing like what they needed. This ship was more for an older crowd. If you like bingo, a terrible re-do of whose line is it anyway, a magician that only does card tricks or want to gamble in a casino this is the cruise for you. Needless to say, I was disappointed.

We paid for a mini-suite, which was nice for the 4 of us. We were on level 11 which was the top level for guests. Only the buffet, pool and penthouse suites were above us. The bathroom was full size, with tub/shower combo and small toilet room with a clear glass/plexi-glass door. There is a fridge but no microwave. We ate one time in the "specialty dining" restaurants, had to wait 15 minutes for waiter, then 30 minutes for food, needless to say, we did the buffet the rest of the time. We paid for the service charge/gratuities extra ahead of time, which meant we didn't have to tip anyone, but didn't get the extra drink package, which was 79$ A DAY, and even though it was suppose to be unlimited, it cut off at 10 or 12 drinks...by the way, this is per person, per day. We thought we would just order drinks separate if we wanted anything. Husband got a beer first night...OVER $8.50 for a beer, we didn't do that again. There was no phone service once you get out of the canal from New Orleans.

Cabin Review

Mini-Suite with Balcony

Cabin MB

We had a Mini-Suite. I don't know the difference with the MB or MX. Other than the toilet not flushing half the time, the room was great.

Port Reviews

Progreso

Beach was dirty.

New Orleans

Although we just walked around the "famous" streets in New Orleans. Warning, watch where you step-vomit and sewage.
