Husband and I had never been to Athens, so when friends invited us to join them - we signed up. We arrived three days before departure to explore this remarkable city, could have spent more time. The Sea was introduced this year and all of the public rooms were spotless. The food service was very good. Enjoyed the Living Room tables with the various games. The Spa is wonderful - saunas in the dressing rooms. Co-ed spa baths, steam room and a SNOW ROOM of all things. The entertainment was their singers and dancers and the real show stopper was the LED screen used for a backdrop. It was amazing. No casino, which I missed a little. One complaint - no sea days - we were in a port every day. Enjoyed our included excursions, we were very lucky with the weather. The Kotor, Montenegro sail in and out was breathtaking. We went on the excursion to the Lady of the Rock for a concert - it was very moving performance by the guitar players. The guide at our Koper, Slovenia seemed to be in a race to see if she could outrun us - she almost did. The excursions staff were very organized and helpful. I liked that as people came they were started on their day.

My husband and I don't drink alcohol. Viking had many choices for us which included non-alcoholic beer and wine. Very thoughtful.

Disembarkation was a nightmare because of fog in Venice. We were supposed to leave at 9am, but ship had to go to Trieste and we didn't get off until 9:30pm. Bussed to port and dropped. It was not a positive experience and we were disappointed in the lack of assistance available, especially because it was 10:30pm. I could go on, but won't. We are in a discussion with Viking.

Cabin Review

Cabin Deluxe Veranda

Our room stewards were excellent. Our cabin was always in tip top shape. Very friendly and efficient. I liked no chocolate or towel animals. I liked the make-up mirror built in to the desk. It was awkward at times because I had to clear items to open,. I really liked the multiple outlets in the room, plus USB ports. Very well thought out. I liked the night lights for the bathroom. The size of the shower was great. Loved the HEATED floor in the bathroom.
