TIP #1: Wear your CruiseCritic gear - I have a lanyard and fleece that the staff recognized and went out of their way to mention. Got me a few free drinks and certainly a lot of smiles.

STATEROOMS

Haven: We will never, never not stay in the Haven again. Wow. Just Wow. It’s a 5 star hotel with 5 star service 24/7. The priority embarkation and debarkation are worth the price alone, but the incredible service, the Haven lounge, the private decks…amazing. Anoop is the head concierge, and he and Rogin made sure everything was perfect. If it wasn’t they fixed it immediately. My folks and in-laws each had Penthouses on the right side of the ship (16710, 16716), and we had a 2 Family Suite on the left side (16112). Honestly…it was too much room for us. We initially booked our suite to “host” our whole family for movies and get-togethers, but we spent so much time in the Haven courtyard that we barely used the living room. Swimming in the heated / enclosed courtyard while it was sleeting outside – priceless. All of the Haven perks made our time relaxing - free new release movies, ultimate drinks package, specialty dining package…wonderful. I review the restaurant below, and for those negative comments about the menus that didn’t change the entire trip – really? There were a week’s worth of different appetizers, entrees and desserts to try (and re-try). The food was so fantastic that we never utilized the free room service. Our room attendants – Cecelio and Noel, and our butlers – Mark, JingJing and Roland were extraordinary. We wanted for nothing – our rooms were sparkling, constantly re-stocked, and they catered to both my vegan diet, my father-in-law’s allergies, and my son’s picky diet. Everyone was smiling, happy and polite – made us feel like the most important people on the ship. Plus – our next-door Cruise Critic neighbors from Tarrytown were awesome – they brought enough holiday decorations to cover two rooms, and they and other families brought gifts to exchange– so gracious! We are looking forward to a return trip to the Haven this coming June (175 days to go), with many familiar faces for the trip.

Cabin Review

The Haven 2-Bedroom Family Villa with Balcony

Cabin H4

Ceclio (attendant), Mark (Butler) and JingJing (Butler-in-Training), and Anoop made sure everything was perfect. You never hear this on a cruise ship but there was TOO MUCH storage space - we used about 1/2 of the drawers and closets. The best was "pressing ham" against our huge bathroom window in Nassau as the RCL ship parked next to us - yep. We are classy folks. I have decided after a a week in the rain shower that I need one for our planned home bathroom renovation. Balcony was just right for our family, and we loved having a separate toilet area from the main bathroom. Bed was absolutely comfortable, and we loved having free new release movies on a big screen TV to settle us in to bed nightly.
