We chose this cruise because port was closest to home. We met friends to join us from the same distance in other direction. The ship was said to be refurbished but was not. It was 18 years old and perhaps some part was redecorated. The AC control in the cabin was located on the ceiling, requiring one to stand on the bed to adjust it. No drinking cups/glasses in bathroom, requiring one to use wine stem ware from tray in main section. No ice provided, no refrigerator provided, no hair dryer provided. Elec. system couldn't handle it we were told. Room steward was kind enough to get us a hairdryer to use for the length of the cruise. The entertainment consisted of singers/dancers 3 nights (ship's entourage of dancers) out of 5 and 2 comedians in comedy shows after hours.. One was excellent, the other was not funny, just lewd language. The seating in the theatre was uncomfortable as the backs were so low, one could not lean back. We did find nightclub type seating further from the stage that was bearable except for the poles being in way of the view. The public restrooms were few and far between, the décor being disgusting but worst of all, not enough stalls for the number of people aboard and at least one of 3 out of order. No hand towels or even paper towels, just blowers, noisy enough to wake the dead! Of 37 cruises between me and my significant other, this was the worst of all. We used to like Carnival but don't think we will go with them again. The staff was good, the food was good but the ship needs to go into mothballs.
