Myself and 7 others embarked on the TUI Discovery on 4th December for 14 nights. We all had an outside cabin on Deck 2. The cabins were very clean and lots of storage space. The shower curtain was no problem at all. Cabins were cleaned twice a day and chocolates put on pillows at night. The ship is old and small compared to other ships that docked in same ports as ours, but we can not fault the ship in any other way. Nice size outdoor pool, great pool bar and smoking area. Islands Buffet has lots of choices 3 times a day and it is all fresh and hot. The Snack Shack is great if you've missed breakfast or lunch, the fish & chips and Cheese Burger & Chips are lovely as are the pre-packed sandwiches, wraps, salads & fruit. Restaurant 47 was a bit too posh for us, we went once and food was ok but not enough of it and limited choice of 3 meals. The Steak restaurant at £25.00 per person was well worth the money, the food was outstanding. The Altrium Bar area needs more table & chairs and the entertainment could do with improvement. We went to one show which was a tribute to pop stars recently departed, it was good. The Live Bar, with that name needs livening up a bit. Great bar area and plenty of seating but entertainment via a screen with fake bands was not all that. Lifts were spotless as were all areas of the ship. The staff work very hard and are extremely friendly and polite. The trips are great abd I am glad we booked ours before we left the UK. Disembarking is no problem at all. Only thing we did not like was our day at sea as the wind was so bad that sun-loungers had to be strapped down.
Spacious clean cabin with plenty of storage space. Close to lifts so ideal if you have any walking problems.
