This was the second of back to back cruises for us!
Ship: Tired furnishings. Couches were worn ... leaning against the arm rest was quite uncomfortable because you could feel the backbone of the support structures. Obvious wear in carpets. Etc.
Ship's Personnel: Outstanding! Everyone was professional, efficient and worked tirelessly to ensure we were well taken care of. It appears that there have been reductions in the number of staff based on our experience on other ships of this class. On occasion, their increased workload adversely affected service, but most of us realized the staff were working at max. There also were quite a number of new staff onboard just learning the ropes. They did well given their experience.
Very clean. With the three seat couch, interior was spacious and balcony was twice the size of one along the side of the ship. Our cabin attendant got us a couple of chaise which permitted us to stretch out and enjoy the balcony fully.
Because the dining room was so cold on the first of the back-to-back cruises, went into Fort Lauderdale to buy a sweater. First cab took us to the wrong place, so by the time we got another cab and back to the ship, spent about $50 on cab fare ... but found the sweater so it's all good!
Took a cab to Dickenson beach. Great beach. Umbrella, two chairs and drinks. Who needs more? Water was cool, but we've found it tends to be cool in Antigua compared to other islands. Clear and refreshing. Good value.
Good port shopping.
Did not go far from the ship, but enjoyed what we did and saw! Very expensive!
Took a cab to Eagle beach. Cab similarly priced to other islands. Umbrella and two chairs (nothing else) was $40 USD! Way overpriced. Water was great, but beach was crowded. Bit of a surf with a resulting undertow, which we've found to be the norm in Aruba.
Aruba is not a preferred stop for us. Too expensive and not much to do other than the beaches.
