Prior to this cruise on Princess we had recently cruised to Alaska on Celebrity Cruise Lines. The difference between Celebrity and Princess was like the difference between night and day. Celebrity won hands down.

The Princess ship's design was very confusing. There were several decks which dealt with the food services that blocked passengers from hallway access. This required traveling up or down at least one deck to bypass the blockage. For a traveler with limited mobility, this represented waiting excessive time for elevators or trying to walk up and down staircases. In my experiences, it was mainly using staircases because an insufficient number of elevators were in service.

The stateroom, which was an upgrade from the original booking, had a broken bathroom door latch and lock which prevented us from closing and securing the door during bathroom use. I reported this to the "front desk" on several occasions starting right after we were given access to our room and also told our room steward to get it fixed. It took 3 days of the 6-day cruise for a mechanic to attend to this issue, which took him several hours to fix it.
