We were on the May 31-June 7 sailing. We arrived in Tampa the day before the cruise and stayed at Hampton Inn - Rocky Point. It was a good deal (free cruise parking/shuttle service to and from the port) and the staff was friendly. The breakfast was decent continental fare. We arrived at the port around 12:30 and, although it was very crowded, we were on the ship within an hour. As many other reviews stated, the ship decor is a bit on the dark side, a little gaudy, and had a legends-from-around -the-world theme, mostly Greek. It was a good size ship for first time cruisers. Easy to navigate. There were over 2000 people, but it never felt that way. We never had problems finding beach chairs, but then we always chilled in the stern pool area. If you want to hang out in the mid-ship pool areas, you'd better get there early. It was forever packed. The crew seemed friendly to us. We never ran into any surly crew members. We enjoyed most of the entertainment. Almost all the comedians were hilarious. We didn't like the ventriloquist at all. I almost fell asleep during the show. The pianist at the piano bar was entertaining, but he cursed quite a bit and a lot of his remarks were lewd, so don't take any young ears to the bar. We enjoyed the rock band. The disco club was one long youtube video. Some people shouldn't mix alcohol and dancing together. We had great laughs while we were there. The most disappointing thing was the dining room food. It was hit or miss. Thank goodness you were allowed to order a different entree, appetizer, whatever if you didn't like the first thing you ordered. We only ate there on formal nights. Otherwise, we ate at the Lido deck buffets, which we liked. There was a wide variety of food and anyone who said they lost weight due to the quality must have been expecting 5 star level food. It wasn't excellent, but not unedible. I highly suggest eating at the supper club at least once. $30 = appetizer, entree, and dessert. Excellent service and ambience. We can't comment on the drink cards or alcohol since we didn't partake in those things. Our steward, Reynaldo, set a high bar for any future cruise stewards. He filled our ice bucket 2-3 times a day, which we never requested, but highly appreciated, and the room was spotless. Then again, we are neat people, so he didn't need to spend a lot of time cleaning up after us. We were surprised by the size of our cabin. We had a king size bed, a little sitting area, and plenty of room to spread out. The balcony was more than enough for 2 people. The casino was fun. We went there a few times. My only complaint was the smoking. There were signs all over the place which clearly stated "No smoking allowed", but no one followed the rule or enforced it.The gym was a decent size. There was always a line for the treadmills, so be prepared to wait. They had the usual nautilus machines and free weights.Getting off the ship was time consuming. We were told to be ready and waiting by 8, but we ended up sitting around until 9:30 before we were allowed to debark. It was easy to find our luggage and customs was a breeze. We have fallen in love with cruising and already started to plan our next one.
