This was a ladies trip and my first time taking a cruise. I had a great time. We had a balcony room and I spent most of my mornings and late evening sitting there. It was very peaceful, especially whenever I wanted to find a quiet place to recoup. The food was awesome, we ate at the Lido Buffet mostly. You have to try Guy's Hamburger place. They served the best hamburgers that I've ever had. There is a BBQ place upstairs from the Lido Buffet that serves awesome BBQ. Not too many people know that it's up there so if you want to avoid the long lines at the buffet around lunch time and don't mind eating some BBQ, that would be a great spot to check out. I didn't care for the food in the Main dining room but they serve this cake called the Carnival Molten Chocolate Cake that is outstanding. It's served with one very small scoop of ice cream, so be sure to ask for two scoops.

I won't say that the drinks (alcohol) was pricey. It depends on if you drink a lot. If you require more than 5 alcoholic beverages per day, you may want to purchase there Bottomless Bubbles package. It's expensive, like $50.00 per person/per day, and if you purchase it, everyone in your cabin has to purchase it. There's a lot of activities for everyone in every age group.

So far as the ports that we visited, I truely enjoyed Cozumel. It's so beautiful. I can' stop talking about how blue the water is down there. If you live near Galveston, you know exactly why I'm fascinated with how blue the water is. I wasn't that impressed with Progreso, but you may like it. I suggest doing an excursion in Progreso because there is some great places to shop and eat in Cozumel. We were on a hunt for White Hennesey but found all kinds of deals on alcohol to bring back. And just a word of warning. You may not have to pay sales tax while you are in Mexico, but you will pay it when you get back to the states. Somewhere between $3.50 to $3.75 per bottle. Depending on the size of the bottle. I brought back 4 bottles, so I paid close to $14.00 bucks, just to let you know. Otherwise, it was an awesome experience. I can't wait to take my husband. I think he will really enjoy it.

We had a total of three people per cabin and it was enough room for everyone. We loved our cabin.

Port Reviews

Progreso

I understand that this is a small town and that the citizens mainly make their money from tourist. But I swear, we had not peace the whole time we were on the beach. We only stayed on the beach for 15 minutes before we decided to just get up and leave because there was someone always coming by every minute to sale us something. And even if we said no, they wanted us to touch it, hold it, see how it work and what not. We could not get any rest. We decided to go back to the boat for the rest of the time that we was in Progreso. Even walking back to the bus was a hassle. We did, however, do a tour before we went back. It was very informative and we got to see different places like city hall, schools and churches. It was a good deal for $5.00 and of course a tip. I strongly suggest doing a excursion here. The shops at the port hod some great deals on souvenirs.
