We just finished our repositioning cruise on the NCL Gem, which left out of San Juan, Puerto Rico and ended in New York City. We stopped in St. Kitts, St. Martin, St. Thomas and Tortola, then had 3 days at sea. We had a great time and I am here to tell you about it. But with the holidays soon upon us, I will keep it short, and provide the highlights.

A little history: my DH and I have been cruising since our honeymoon in 2000. This is our 5th cruise on NCL, our 14th cruise overall. The itinerary interested us, as we live in the US Virgin Islands (St. Croix) and enjoy the repositioning, especially to NYC. Along with the low cruise price and the “unlimited beverage package”, this equaled a great value that we could not pass up. I am in my 50s and DH is in his 70s. We also sweet talked a friend into joining us; he is in his 70s and also lives in the Caribbean (St. Thomas). Friend had his own inside cabin (10509); we splurged with a balcony (I upgraded a few weeks before the cruise, price was right!). Our cabin number was 9064 and was a regular balcony cabin.

Port information: San Juan was the embarkation; it was crazy outside of the terminal, with a long line. But once inside, everything went pretty smooth. Let me tell you the highlights of our stops:
