I am amazed at all of the petty complaints that I have read here and overheard on the ship. One guest referred to the food as "hospital food" another complained about the taste of the ice. There were other complaints too numerous and obnoxious to mention. This is not what we experienced. We had a fantastic cruise from embarkation to disembarkation. We found a ship that is very tastefully decorated in a comfortable décor. The staff is among the best at sea. They are friendly, eager to please, and well trained. There is an abundance of staff to handle any request. We did not have to wait in any bar, restaurant or public area to be served. The food was varied and well prepared. Dinners were just as described on the menu and well presented. The entertainment was varied (including a comic, a magician, a singer/dancer and the HAL singers, dancers and band. There was something to appeal to anyone. Going thorough the Panama Canal they even had a guide come aboard the ship to narrate the happenings. It was better than any excursion they could offer. All in all, the Zuiderdam offers one of the best cruise experiences at sea. Just remember, its not the biggest, most modern or flashiest ship in the sea.
The cabin attendents were very friendly and efficient. They made sure that we had everything we needed. This room is in a great location near the mid ship elevators. I would definetly ask for this room again.
Port Everglades is eay to get in and out of and the proximity to the airport can't be beat.
Not a whole lot going on here. Good place to visit once. Would not want to go back.
Why in the world did we stop here? There is nothing there.
Very friendly town with some good local shops.
