I really like sailing on a large ship on the ocean. Okay, I haven't hit really bad weather yet, but I enjoy the sky, the wind, the ocean life, the birds, and I like watching my fellow passengers. The nearly unlimited variety of things to do, keeps one busy from sunrise to well after sundown. You are on a floating city, without having to worry about crime or bad drivers.
My wife and I were on deck one, with a nice sized window looking out over the ocean. Our room had a large King size bed, a couch, practical bathroom, and a TV. Being on deck one meant that we had a great walk up 137 steps to the Lido buffet style restaurant on deck 10. (We never took one of the many elevators). Every day there was a wonderful breakfast buffet, lunch buffet, and supper buffet, although we sometimes ate in the Sunrise Restaurant on deck 4. Frankly, we found the buffet more enjoyable, as one usually ended up sitting with strangers who you got to know. The food was just as good (sometimes better), and there was less ship vibration noticeable up on deck 10, than on deck 4. (In fact, the vibration one could feel from the ship's engines was so noticeable that it put my wife off the restaurant a bit).
We really enjoyed the nightly entertainment. The cast of eight who performed nearly nightly were fabulous. Chris, the cruise director worked hard at making sure everyone was enjoying themselves. I am not really a party type cruiser, but I enjoyed watching from the edge of the crowd.
