We love this cruise being from Los Angeles No Flights are needed to get to and from the ship. My wife needed a wheel chair to get from the car to our cabin. Wheel chair service for embarkation was very POOR. However, it should be noted that this particular cruise attracted over 1000 guests with wheeled needs and there were only 35 wheel chairs available. The rest of check in was handled very well.

The food in general seemed to be of lower quality than expected. Pastries were limited to jellied or custard filled or with nuts. Croissants were flaky but dry as were the pastries. However the service was superb in both the dining room and throughout the buffet the buffet..

The ship is showing its age with visible wear and tear throughout. Cabin doors and corridors are a couple of inches too narrow for the wheel chairs, scooters and walkers to navigate easily.

Mini-Suite with Balcony

Cabin MB

Very comfortable, spacious with plenty of storage space and a nice size balcony.

Port Reviews

Kauai

Kauai is known as the garden Island. On the north side of the Island around the town of Princeville lie some beautiful resorts and restaurants. The drive there is on 2 lane roads which can be very slow and an accident can cause long deldays so it is important to head back to the ship with plenty of time for the return drive.

Maui

This is a tender required port. The island has two very distinct areas of weather. The west and north are very wet, often rainy. The East toward Kihei and Wailea are dry nearly alway sunny. The town of Kihei has beachfront condos available for rent and the local beaches are almost never crowded.

If you choose drive up to the top of Haleakala for spectacular view do NOT ride the ride the brakes on your descent as you will urn up the brakes. Even in an automatic shift, USE LOW GEAR.
