We chose this cruise mainly to get a taste of Vietnam and we were not disappointed.
We checked our ports and shore excursions on Trip Advisor and selected shore excursion with both HAL and private providers according to what we wanted to see.
We were originally allocated ocean view cabin 3318 but pre cruise that changed to 3366 which was more mid ships and adjacent to stairs and lifts. The cabin was compact but well laid out. Plenty of storage. The bed was comfortable but the cabin was warm . The air conditioning did not provide adequate air flow no matter what setting was selected on the control. There was occasional noise at night from above as well (galley?)
This cabin was compact but well laid out. There is plenty of storage. The bathroom is cosy but workable.
There is no minibar refrigerator.
The location ajacent to stairs and lifts was convenient. We did not experience external noise because of the location, however there was some overhead noise in the wee hours which was annoying at times.
We found the air conditioning to be totally inadequate.
Disembarkation procedures onboard were well handled and swift. Customs and immigration were slow mainly due to a lack of facilities and man power to handle a large crowd.
Took a local taxi to Chaweng Beach which was enjoyable.
Having been to Bangkok and Pattaya we elected to stay on board only going ashore to connect to the Internet in the terminal. $3US for 3 hours and a trip into the local shopping mall which for us was a waste of time and money.
We spent a couple of days here pre cruise. We enjoyed walking the city and loved the street food.
