Sail Date: Jun 2009

We sailed on the Caribbean Princess June 11th - June 20th.  This is our 5th cruise and third with Princess.  Since we are from New York it was a pleasure in preparing for this cruise because we did not have to take a plane and we could pack whatever we wanted.  The following are the various categories we had only positive things to say.  The only negative was that our stateroom could have been a little cooler.  However, this did not in any way make us uncomfortable.  With that said, here are our reviews.  Embarkation - This was, without a doubt, the easiest embarkation we have ever had.  We arrived at 11:30 and were on the ship at 12:15.  The main reason was that they didn't start boarding until 12:00.  As you can see, they were very organized.Stateroom - We had a mini-suite on Dolphin deck and could not have been cleaner or spacious.  As you can see from the pictures, there is so much space to move around in.  Our steward was very efficient and couldn't have been nicer.  He even remembered to put a Happy Birthday balloon on the door for my wife.  One of the nice attributes was that they asked us each day what kind of fruit we wanted for the next day.  It was delivered in the morning complimentary.  Sanctuary - What can we say about this extraordinary part of the ship.  It gives you a cruise within a cruise.  There are four people that attend to 47 people and all they want to do is make your life happy and stress free.  We strongly recommend that you get up to the sanctuary early and get one of those lounges.  Dining Room Food - We ate in the dining room six nights and found it very pleasant and the food was more than adequate.  Since we had a traditional program first seating, we dined with the same couple every evening.  This made it very easy to have a conversation and talk about our lives and what we did that day.  Almost every evening we saw people waiting to get into the dining room at both the traditional and free style dining.  Horizon Court - We ate breakfast every morning at the buffet and could not have been happier.  The food and the service was top notch.  It was a pleasure eating such good food and not having to wake up early every morning.  We also had a few lunches there and the selection of food was plentiful.Chef's Table - We would highly recommend anyone who wants to experience 3 1/2 hours of gourmet delight to sign up for this experience.  Not only are you eating some of the finest food that can be prepared but the service is impeccable.  As soon as you get on the ship call Dining Services and put your name on the list.  Since there are only 20 slots, it is imperative that you do it as early as possible.  You will not regret one minute of this experience.  Shore Excursions - We only did 2 excursions and they were both fantastic.  The first one was the Segway Tour in Bermuda and the Zip Line tour in Puerto Rico.  Both of these were great.  Ports - The only port we weren't thrilled with was Grand Turk.  The beach was crowded and the shops were nothing to write home about.  The rest of the ports had their attributes and we enjoyed all of them.  Specialty Restaurants - We ate in The Grill and Sabatinis.  Both were very enjoyable and we would highly recommend them for a nice experience.  The Grill was exceptional and was very elegant.  Sabatinis was fun but not as elegant.  Casino - We're not big gamblers but we did go to the casino every evening and met some very nice people.  The casino host was very accommodating and made you feel right at home.  Shows - Of all the production shows, the best one was a take off on various singers.  At the Crooners Bar, Martin Kaye was playing every night and he was one of the shows in the Explorers Lounge.  We felt this was the best entertainment of the ship.  The comedians were not our cup of tea.  Debarkation - We arrived at our meeting place at 10:15 and were off the ship by 10:45.  It was a pleasure because they are so organized.  As you can see, we had a wonderful time and look forward to sailing with Princess again.
