Normally cruise out of Puerto Rico when heading to Eastern or Southern Caribbean, but coming from Canada, airfare is a significant cost. Thought we would enjoy a longer cruise with the less expensive airfare to Fort Lauderdale. Convinced some friends to come with us (first time cruisers)

Positives.

Ports visited were pretty good, although in more than one port, none of the excursions were of interest to us. Went with Bumping Tours in Dominica - just fantastic. Went privately to the beach at another couple of the stops.

Cabin Review

Superior Ocean View Stateroom with Balcony

Cabin D1

Really clean, but quite worn.

Safe - some of the numbers were recessed.

Fridge - panel kept falling off

Couch - could not lean on arms because padding gone

Bathroom cabinet - did not stay closed in rough conditions

Port Reviews

Fort Lauderdale (Port Everglades)

Travelling from Canada, we always come down a day early in case of flight delays or cancellations. Love Fort Lauderdale and the river walk. One of our favourite restaurants is there!

Tortola

The excursion we'd booked was cancelled; this was an alternate. Disappointed at first, but this turned out to be one of the best snorkelling excursions on the trip!

St. Kitts (Port Zante)

Took a taxi to Shipwreck Bar and Grill. Free chairs and umbrella. Good snorkelling. Nice beach. Cheap beer. Great no pressure activity.

Dominica

Non-ship excursion with Bumping Tours. Champagne beach, Ti Tou gorge, Trafalgar Falls. Great tour guides. Wonderful experience. Great value.

Antigua

Went to Deadwood Beach. $25 for two chairs, umbrella and six beer. No good snorkelling, but the water was great, food and drink available, beach attendant was attentive.

St. Maarten

Walked to the beach and had an awesome day! Great prices. Good food. Good beer. Want for nothing!
