We chose this cruise last minute because the cruise we had booked to Cuba was cancelled. We originally discounted this cruise line because of the negative reviews, but then I remembered that dissatisfied customers usually post more often then satisfied customers.
Last review before mine had a totally different view on almost all the same things, however we went about our trip differently. The food was definitely not the best I have ever eaten, however if you went into the main dining room for meals, breakfast was the same buffet, but you could also order from your waiter and your omelettes, eggs or even pancakes could be make fresh for you. Lunch was also ordered off the menu unless it was a disembarkation day. The choices were limited, true, but you could always find something good. The appetizers were made as main courses for us throughout the cruise, if that is what we preferred. The soups, both hot and cold, were always delicious, salads fresh. We received our meat at the medium rare temperature we preferred and were served french fries with our hamburgers at request. They could use fresh fish options for sure, but I was not dissatisfied with the food at all and came home 3 lbs extra.
The staff was amazing and unlike the prior review, we arrived as late as 7:15 for dinner and they always found us a table for 3. We did upgrade to the gold drink package and the choices were much more plentiful.
The best we ever had!
