We almost always fly in the day of the cruise. We flew into Fort Lauderdale and took a private shuttle down to Miami Port. This was the first time that we have gone out of Miami. We took an early flight so we could get on early and I could go into Miami for our weekly wine allowance. We arrived about 11:15 and was greeted with a long line. We finally got thru all the check in and was seated with everyone else. They finally started letting passengers on around 1:30, we got on around 2:30. Needless to say we went wineless for the first week of our B2B. We were able to get into our cabin to drop off what we carried on. Went up and got a bite to eat before the muster drill. We had sailed on the Glory twice before and enjoyed the experience. The muster drill was not the best time of the cruise. Some of the crew was trying to make the best of it and was interacting with the passengers until another crew member came down and told us we had to be quite during the drill. After standing in the sun (silently). after about 15 minutes later they started the drill. After the drill went back up to our cabins to find our luggage in our room. We got unpacked and met our cabin steward. More on the cabin later. As I said we had been on the Glory before. She is showing her age.

We had anytime dining, which we prefer as you get to meet new people. The first night we decide to go to the early show and went to the dining room later. They set us by ourselves, which was ok. Had a great dinner with great service.

Our 2nd day was Half Moon Caye. Has to be one of our most favorite beaches ever. We were the only ship in so was not crowded at all. Was able to do some geocaching before we enjoyed the swimming and sun. We decided to skip the shore lunch and headed back to the ship for some lunch. Tried out Guys Burger and enjoyed the burgers. That night we decided to go to dinner a little earlier. Told the hostess that were willing to share a table if we didn't have to wait long. They took us to a table for 6. The server came by and we told him that others would be following, he got us water and menus and said he would come back when others arrived. Still no one else showed up, he came back about 15 minutes later and said that he would go ahead and take our order, by the time he got back, 2 other couples showed up. Met some great people and dinner went good after the poor start. We had the same thing the next night and decided after that we would go the table for two after that. Service was good, but we were set at a table that was grouped of 4-6 tables. about 6 inches apart, so you maybe eating entre while another table got their desert and the other was ordering their meal. Was able to meet new people, but didn't get to spend much time to get to know them.

Cabin 4A

WE met our steward and he asked if there was anything he could do for us. I told him about dust on the shelves in the bathroom and he took care of it right away. I told him that the refrigerator was not working , he checked it and said that he would notify maintenance. The next day he informed me that they did not have a replacement and that would not have a refrigerator that 1st week. we lived thru it. The furniture is showing its age. You had to struggle to get drawers open and could not close them all the way.

The second week the cabin (2318) was in much better shape.

Port Reviews

Roatan

Just stayed around the dock and beach area. Very beautiful area, but sand in the water at the beach was not good

Belize City

Nothing planned so just went ashore and had lunch and some refreshments.

Cozumel

Should have taken an excursion, but didn't. We did not find any beaches close by. After talking to some people, they gave us some good suggestions. Will know better next time.

Grand Cayman (Georgetown)

Love Grand Cayman, but decided to just walk around the dock area.
