Sail Date: May 2009

It was an interesting question that came up from a couple I met on this voyage aboard the Infinity. They had sailed on several cruises and were trying to decide on their primary cruise line for the future. Like frequent flyer programs on airplanes, most cruise lines offer certain perks to their repeat cruisers, so I think having a primary cruise line, it does have a good logic to it.

The question did make me think why I did keep returning to Celebrity, I think this was my 9th cruise with Celebrity, I also did two with RCL, two with Cunard and one each with Holland America and Costa. So why do I go back to Celebrity?

First and foremost I think is the old phrase "service with a smile" came to mind. I never have been on a Celebrity ship where I ran into grumpy employee. I'm not sure how they stay motivated to the degree that they do, but they do. I've seen some insanely nutty passengers at the guest relations desk ranting and raving, about issues that I'm sure were sincere
