I chose this cruise because I enjoy sailing with Princess and the itinerary, which included Iceland interested me. The ship was clean and well maintained. The crew was friendly and helpful. The captain kept the guests well informed with frequent briefings about the weather and the ship's progress. The food on Princess is always very good but on this cruise there could have been more variety and more vegetables offered. Service in the Horizon Court buffet was inconsistent. During some meals the staff would be tripping over each other to serve you a beverage while during other meals service was no where to be found. Finding a place to sit for meals in the buffet continues to be a problem. Princess has placed small cards on the tables asking guests not to play cards or table games during meal times, but without some level of enforcement these requests are completely ignored.

The drinking fountain in the gym did not work at any time during the cruise, even though this was reported to the gym steward more than once.

Smoking continues to be a major irritant and threat to passenger health. It is disappointing that Princess continues to place the interests of a small number of smoking passengers ahead of the enjoyment and safety of the vast majority of their non-smoking passengers. On many occasions the smell of cigarette smoke was present in the Princess Theater, coming in from the casino which is located directly aft of the theater. This is totally unacceptable.
