Please turn off the flamethrowers. I am complaining about some things that may appear minor to others, but they did put a definite damper on our spirits during this cruise, okay?
I am a TA member with the login of chatschats, and have written reviews of my land experiences for a while. We love Princess, have been cruising with them since retiring in 2007, and will continue doing so as long as we are capable. Our overall experiences with them have all been about 8-9 on a scale of 10.
That being said, this cruise got off to a rocky start; it really seemed as though no one knew what others were doing. We embarked very smoothly and rapidly and got to our cabin... to find a blue tag with some names that were not ours. (Blue means a noobie, there should have been a black tag.) We entered the cabin and to our dismay, did not find the minibar, the upgraded bathroom amenities, or the invite to the Elite wine tasting. We went to the Purser, gave him the blue tag and mentioned the above... long story short, it took them 2.5 days to correct this, while playing the old game of El Passo de Bucko between Purser, Hotel Department, and finally Captain's Circle, to get this fixed! When we finally DID get the items, the bloom was off the rose, so to speak!
Steward Catherine Fajardo - A GEM! If Princess actually reads these reviews, PROMOTE her!! She has *17* rooms, most of them Minisuites, to care for every day. She worked her butt off to be sure that we had everything and anything we needed, and always cheerful. Cabin itself looks as though it has very recently been refurbished - all equipment in perfect working order (even the balcony door moved smoothly!) Bed astoundingly comfortable, straight chairs perfect for my back. Hallways also looked brand new.
