We have now enjoyed four Princess cruises to Hawaii - one out of the Los Angeles and three out of San Francisco. During the last three cruises, we sailed aboard the Grand Princess. During our most recent Hawaii cruise, we visited all four islands. On previous cruises, either wind, weather or some other condition prevented the ship from docking or tendering at all 4 ports of call.

At the end of this year's cruise, trouble with a tender door caused the Captain, in an abundance of caution, to turn the ship back from to Honolulu. After we arrived back in Honolulu, Princess made arrangements to fly all passengers to the San Francisco area. Needless to say, this was a monumental effort that was handled expeditiously and professionally. We expect no less from Princess Cruise Lines and we were not disappointed. Princess distinguished itself. We now look forward to our next Princess cruise which is scheduled to start February 4, 2017.

In our opinion, the entertainment on this cruise was exceptional. It featured Princess' new show "Born to Dance." It was fantastic! We also enjoyed seeing some new acts such as Modern Gentlemen and Sean O'Shea along with a wide variety of comedians and other acts. This cruise featured many other great performers in the Crooners Bar, Piazza, Wheelhouse and other locales throughout the ship. We very much enjoyed pianist Salomonde and Guitarist/Singer Luca. Unfortunately, this cruise did not feature a classical trio or quartet which we missed.

Cabin IF

Our cabin was comparable in size and amenities to other inside cabins. Because we spend so little time in our cabin, we do not have a need for more space nor do we have a need for a balcony especially on a cruise that involves as many as 8 days at sea.

This time, our cabin had made an unusual creaking noise that seem to increase and diminish with the size of the waves. Initially, it was not loud enough to interfere with our sleep. However, after eight days, it became louder. So, we reported it to the passenger service desk with the prospect that the issue would be addressed during the ship's upcoming "dry dock." We did not expect nor ask that it be corrected during our voyage. However, within minutes of our report, the issue was addressed and repairs were initiated. We were advised that it might take a couple of days to repair. Happily, the noise was gone by end of day. In the meantime, we were generously offered another cabin which we declined. This episode is another example of the excellent attention that Princess devotes to its passengers.
