This is the second time we cruised to Alaska. Departing from San Francisco was a big plus because we live nearby. The boarding process was fast and easy and luggage was promptly delivered to our balcony cabin. Our cabin attendant was right on top of his job making sure we had everything we needed. Beds were comfortable and the room was well kept and clean.

On this cruise we elected to eat in the dining room most of the time. Food was prepared nicely and the service was great. We used the Horizon Court only for lunchtime quick snacks. The food quality was a little less than we've had in the past, but was still good. Seating was a bit of a chore though as there were too many people at one time and we wound up having to take our food to the outside rear deck on occasion.

This was our fist visit in Skagway. After visiting the small town we boarded the White pass railroad for an excursion to the pass. This is a great experience, however, this railway is narrow gauge and very close to cliff edges, so if you are afraid of the train falling off the tracks down the edge don't worry, it wont. You may get a few more grey hairs though.
