I researched Singapore online before leaving + decided to stay an extra 3 days after the cruise to see the Christmas lights on Orchard Road. I was glad I did. Singapore is spectacular, modern and full of fabulous architecture. As for the ship, embarkation was faster than on past cruises, since boarding times were set out in advance. Desembarkation ran a bit late, with waits of 30 minutes past the set time, but the waiting lounges were comfy, with drinks provided.

The ship is an older one + about to be refurbished, but it was still gracious and pleasant. My veranda cabin was roomy and well-maintained by my steward. Dining rooms were terrific; I chose "Anytime dining" and had a range of choices, which I preferred. The song and dance shows were wonderful - always a favourite - though I found I had to arrive 30 minutes early to get a good seat.

Onboard passenger service was okay....long lineups at the Shore Excursion Desk and Passenger Service Desk, and often quite a wait to get a drink at the Tradewinds Bar. And the onboard computer system was worse than terrible! Expensive WiFi and slo-w-w connection times. I felt deprived + cut off from home, which I did not like, and which in itself would keep me from cruising again.

Balcony

Cabin BE

I liked my cabin but couldn't use the balcony as the weather was so bad throughout the voyage. This has happened before, so be sure to check out the weather forecast before you book this expensive option. The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom larger than on previous cruises. The TV was okay - I saw some good free movies, and there were some watchable TV stations, but not many. The Port Talks on the TV were unwatchably boring. As always, my steward was amazing, so no faulting of service there. However, room service was terrible! No attempt to present food in an appealing way. I used it only twice, then gave up. A final warning - don't book a cabin too far forward! I had to walk the length of the ship to get to any of the food venues, which are ALL AFT.
