Overview
We have been on 3 Celebrity solstice class ships in the last year. Reflection was the best in service, food and overall experience. Solstice was close behind losing very few marks for slightly inconsistent food, but nothing at all to complain about. Equinox was far behind in service, food and especially guest relations.
Cabin - 7103
7103 is one of the oceanview cabins on the very front of the ship where you have the same view as the bridge. We’d stayed in 8104 on Reflection and liked the view and the fact that these rooms are a bit bigger than the average. We knew that there would be more motion than a midship OV and that doesn’t bother us at all.
7103 is a very noisy room. It overlooks the helipad, which was never used and a crew bar that was. When the bow thrusters are engaged (docking and leaving the dock), the cabin vibrates and the noise level is so high that you can’t carry on a conversation or hear the TV. There is a metal staircase going from the crew bar to a door across the hall from the room which the crew use at all hours of the day and night and they don’t worry about letting the door slam. There is a storage room across the hall which is used all the time and they store junk right outside the room.
The drapes are ‘crunchy’ and the last 2 rollers have been broken so they don’t close properly. There is about 10 feet of open space between the bed and the sitting area, yet there isn’t enough space to get around someone sitting at the desk without going over the bed. Simply centering the bed on the wall would fix this problem.
I’d suggest that you don’t book this cabin, unless it’s the only one available and you aren’t bothered by noise.
Good port for Embarkation/Debarkation. Lots of things to do close by.
Docked n Crown Bay in St. Thomas. Almost nothing to do there. Can’t even walk to town.
