Negatives...We purchased a grand ocean suite. We arrived at the terminal at 11:00 and were not able to board until noon...no surprise there. We were told we could go to our cabin, we did and it wasn't ready so we dropped our bags and went to check out the rest of the ship. We went to the buffet and it was disorganized but overall ok. This ship was sold out! We toured the rest of the ship and went back to our cabin and the floor was still dirty. We talked with our steward and he made sure it was clean. During the whole cruise the elevators were outrageously slow. There was a lot of children on the ship that may have contributed to that. My advice is grab that elevator whether it's going up or down. Overall the food on the Magic is good. We were just a little disappointed that some of our favorite food places were no open all the time. Pig and Anchor was only open 2 days and only 2 1/2 hours however the food was delish! If you didn't get there in time you didn't eat. If they changed locations for activities they did not announce it or hang signs. Leaving the ship trying to get to the car rental was horrible! We waited for 3 shuttles before we decided to grab a taxi. There was no standing in line. Never again!

Positive...Our service aboard this ship was amazing. Our MDR waiter and our steward went the extra mile to make sure we had everything we wanted or needed. We loved the loungers out on the decks. It did rain the almost the entire cruise but that did not stop the fun! The shows could have been a little better but overall they were good. The steakhouse was amazing and our waiter was fun and informative. On excursions I thought they were good we got what we paid for. We absolutely loved the Deluxe Caramaran Sail in Amber Cove. I would highly recommend this one. They made sure everyone had a good time. In St Thomas we purchased 2 hour Megan's Beach and shopping. Next time we will either rent a car (car rental is right there when you get off the ship) and go to the beach. Entrance to the beach was only 2 dollars and shopping is near the ship. Grand Turk we will book an excursion the next time. Another ship was already there and it was just too many people.

Grand Suite

Cabin GS

It was a nice size. Plenty of room for two people. We loved the bigger balcony and all the little perks of having a grand suite. I loved the big tub!

Port Reviews

Amber Cove (Puerto Plata)

We did the Deluxe Catamaran Sail and it was amazing! We boarded an air conditioned charter type bus that took us through Puerto Plata. Our guides told us about our surroundings and explained about living there. We drove along the ocean after the city and saw the park that draws lots of people everyday. We arrived at Playa Dorado where we went to the beach to board the catamaran. The beach was beautiful! The crew on the catamaran was so much fun. We had sodas and water on the way to the 1st snorkel spot. They gave my husband food to feed the fish. He said it was amazing. I do not snorkel and they opened up the bar while everyone else snorkels. My husband said the next spot was much better than the first! They let me swim around the bottom of the stairs. When everyone got back on board everyone had sodas, rum drinks and lunch. Lunch was salads, mini hoagies and fruit. After lunch we were able to buy pictures of our underwater excursion. I could not take pictures like that!! We sailed back to the ship. even though it rained, It was a beautiful day to sail and we joined the crew danced the entire way. They took us back to the ship and assisted everyone off the catamaran. Do not miss this excursion!
