Easy friendly check in - easiest ever experienced. We walked up from the nearby Edgewater Hotel with our suitcases. Wonderful lunch in the Terrace Cafe after embarkation sitting in sunshine with the Blue Angels flying overhead as they were in town. Amazing! Sail away was sunny and windy. I had booked an inside cabin 8028 as we travelled on a budget this time. A different experience to our usual verandah cabin but the category F inside cabin is located on the same level as the Penthouse suites and midship so we felt little rocking. There are chaise lounges in a sheltered area near the pool if you feel sea sickness. Captain Luksa Krisovic and crew did an amazing job negotiating waters packed with icebergs. Dottie Kulasa was our cruise director and she did a good job. It was a wonderful cruise with wonderful service. Thoroughly enjoyed every aspect of the experience. Sailing up to the Daws glacier was the highlight. Wrangell stop consists of a number of hardware stores! Nice tour of Prince Rupert, Canada.
Small cabin and windowless however it is perfectly adequate for sleeping and in fact we had slept very well as it was midship so we felt little movement. There were however a number of children on this cruise unlike other Oceania cruises and they cried and screamed in the room next door and behind. I think the parents were in the adjacent Penthouse suites and their young children were in the inside stateroom so for that reason we were annoyed as all we could hear was the sounds of nursery. We don't expect young children on Oceania cruises!
Embarkation point. Smooth embarkation. Very friendly.
Easy walk into town from port. You don't need a tour here.
Lots of hardware stores. A small simple town. Friendly and safe. Easy walk in to town straight off the ship.
