Sail Date: Dec 2016
Cabin: Family Balcony

This was our third cruise this year, and we took it solely because we got a good deal. Getting to the port proved to be a chore, because there were four ships all loading at the same terminal side, but once we got into the area, boarding was fairly quick and painless. We were allowed into our cabin immediately (possibly because it took so long to get to the port -- we didn't board until after 2pm.)

I appreciated that the muster drill was held in the casino, rather than crowded onto the decks, like we've experienced before.

Starting with what we loved, the meals in the Manhattan Dining Room were excellent, accompanied by a jazz quartet that provided subtle, but mood establishing, background music. We had dinner in Taste one evening, didn't like that as much, and in the Noodle Shop, which was pretty good. Otherwise, snacks in the pub on deck 6 (good chicken wings, rest was kinda meh) and the buffet on deck 15 was okay for breakfast and lunch (the breakfast buffet, got very boring as the week wore on, always the same stuff, would have preferred some variety.)

Cabin Review

Family Balcony

Cabin B3

Cabin features curved walls with beds that alternate from "next to balcony" in one cabin and "in middle of room" for the other -- this allows them to "steal" about a foot from the other cabin to fit the bed in. (Sort of, it's still short -- I'm 5'11" and my feet hung over the edge of the bed by about six inches.) That's probably okay if you have a cabin with the bed by the balcony, but ours was in the middle of the room, making it almost impossible to navigate with two people in the cabin. There is no separate bathroom, just small dividers between the toilet, shower and rest of the room.

Port Reviews

Great Stirrup Cay

Tender over to the private island, not worth the trip. Food on island (complimentary) was okay, nothing special.

Port Canaveral (Orlando)

Four ships at one terminal side (A) overwhelmed the place -- traffic was backed up enormous distances. Get there early unless you like sitting in your car.
