We went on this cruise specifically to accompany our daughters who wanted to go on the Allure. We have been to the Caribbean many times and were not necessarily keen on the idea but the Allure interested us. I was very impressed by the amenities on the ship, venues and staff. The officers were very visible and offered us an opportunity to discuss what it would be like for someone to work onboard. We normally travel on Celebrity and are Elite Plus on that line. Royal Caribbean puts us on par with Diamond class and we were given amenities equal to that class. I was also impressed with the speed and availability of the internet.....great to have that ability./ Food was acceptable but not exceptional in the Windjammer and main dining room. We only experienced the Mexican Sabor as another restaurant and that was really good. Overall I think this ship would be great for a group of people/family reunion as it can accommodate a lot of people at one time. I am much more of a smaller ship person where you can meet and mingle with the same people often. The ship has close to 8000 people with crew and cruisers so it is like a small city. I think they did a great job managing that amount of people. They had the best gym I have ever seen at sea and the spa was great.

Cabin Review

Ocean View Stateroom

Cabin F

Cabin was a bit smaller that used to on the Celebrity ships we normally cruise on. We found we were tripping over each other......need more room to move. It was very clean and the attendant was great....she cleaned the room quickly and we hardly ever saw when she did it.

Port Reviews

Fort Lauderdale (Port Everglades)

Nice Port spent day before cruise at the Sea Court resort......a very old hotel that reminded me of Lucy and Ricky Ricardo......staff was nice....hotel needs some care. Went to a museum and Orchid show and walked around the area and boardwalk. There are many restaurants to choose from.

Nassau

Have been to this port many times and it is mostly a retail stop. Excursions to Atlantis are good but the stop is to short to really enjoy the area.

St. Thomas

Favorite place to visit Magen's Bay Beach though it has become much busier than the last time I was there. Chairs and floats cost about 22.00 for two, restaurant is good....great burgers. Town is full of jewelry stores and some restuarants. Our favorite one is Vigilios off a side street....great Italian food.

St. Maarten

Loved the Boardwalk.......the port city is great for shopping and is on the Dutch side. We took a cab to the French side and went to the markets......they had some unique items which were locally made. We proceeded to go around the Island and returned to port for some drinks and nachos......good day.
