This was our first time cruising Norwegian since our honeymoon 35 years ago. We have cruised Celebrity, Carnival, and RCI. We chose this cruise because of the price. I mean, who can argue with $199 pp for a night cruise? We did upgrade to a oceanview, but decided not to go for the balcony since that was a substantial upcharge for a 4 day cruise.

We live in Florida, so it was a pretty easy drive, except for the very end, when teh traffic is monsterous. We used to only cruise out of Ft Lauderdale or Port Canaveral just to avoid the Miami traffic, but we are finding a better selection of cruises if we sail from Miami.

Parking and embarkation was fine, the lines were long, but moved quickly. By the time we boarded we were able to get to our cabin and get rid of our carry-ons. Rooms were small, but we expected that on an older ship. The staff was great, we ended up tipping a lot because the service was so good, from the waitstaff to the bartenders to our room steward.
