We are a married couple in our 60's. We had sailed on the Pearl to Alaska a few years ago and had such a fantastic experience that we were thrilled that we could take her again this time to the Panama Canal. This cruise was perfect and mostly because of the excellent crew in both in their welcoming attitude to the passengers, professionalism, and how well they keep the ship up.
We flew Delta into Miami a couple of days ahead and stayed at the Marriott Biscayne Bay and were able to watch the ships come and go from the port. It was only a short taxi ride to the port.We left our hotel room at 10:15 am and were all checked in and sitting waiting to board at 10:45am. This was due to being in the Haven but at that time the regular lines were moving well also.
The Owner's Suite was fantastic. It had both a front and side deck and 1 1/2 bathrooms. Our room steward and butler were both very good at their jobs and kept the room in great shape and very clean. We choose to cruise less often in an upgraded cabin but there were lots of people who said they like to get a basic cabin and cruise frequently. All the cabins are good it is personal preference.
