Never did we expect that the one thing we would have to worry about on our cruise vacation was mold. My entire family got sick from the mold in their cabins. Though my cabin did have some mold in it including in the showers, my sister's was much worse. Hanging out in her room for just a few minutes would make your lungs hurt and instantly get cold like symptoms. Not only was there a smell of mold but there is also the smell of man sweat. We are 100% sure that it was only in the rooms because once we were outside of the cabins we felt fine. For a few nights that she had to sleep in our cabin because they could not offer her another room. The only thing that they could offer to do was mask the smell of mold with the deodorants. This is an unacceptable and preventable health concern.

The second biggest issue we had was how complicated it was to get gluten-free food. Though we appreciate the big effort that they made to serve food gluten free during the dinners, they did keep messing up the orders. Sometimes food at the Windjammer was better than the dinner table. For some reason they think that just because it's gluten-free, that has to be very bland food like steamed potatoes and vegetables with no flavor. Another mishap happened during an excursion to Chichen Itza. We requested gluten-free food several times and the company who runs the excursion completely forgot to provide that for us. I can't believe their idea of a lunch consisted of a sandwich, muffin, and cookie. I wouldn't even give that to my kid and unless I wanted him to have childhood obesity.

Also, beware of the massage service. We booked a 50 minute massage and right when we got the bill we were surprised to see that they charge us for a 70 minute massage. This was fixed but we had to go through a couple of employees to go through this. The massage was all right (not the greatest) and we still tipped the girls for their extra 20 minutes of time.

The cheapest way to get to the pyramids is by taking the trolley to the center of town and then you get a cab to take you to the pyramids of Chachoben.
