I chose this cruise because more than any other location I wanted to go to Half Moon Cay. This was my 3rd cruise and all have been with Carnival. Jacksonville is an 8 hour drive from where I live. I liked the idea of it taking a full night and 1/2 day to reach the first destination port. We parked in a lot across the highway from the entrance to the terminal, much cheaper than at the terminal. We were running a little late and arrived at 3:00pm with a 4:00pm departure. We were shuttled over and thru the boarding process within 1/2 an hour. No waiting at all. We carried most of our luggage aboard ourselves.

The Ship:

Elation is an old ship, but I must say I found it beautiful. All the carpets were in great shape. Tables and chairs were as well. The only thing I thought looked aged were the shower tiles.
