This my eighth cruise with two on NCL, two on Carnival, one on Princess and my third on HA. This was the best cruise so far.
Boarding in San Diego was easy (it usually is). The check-in person told us that there were 300 minors on board, but they were never bothersome. Sail away from San Diego is wonderful on HA because of the large aft deck with music, special cocktails and two "Mexican Ambassadors" who danced. This male-female couple reappeared several times during the cruise with everything from dance demonstrations, to a lecture on the history of Mexico to paper flower making classes.
My partner and I purchased the signature drinks package with was ample for mixed drinks (under $8) but somewhat sketchy for wine during dinner. HA has just introduced an "Elite" drinks package which is $10 more per day (approx) and covers all drinks up to $15. This was not available when I booked the package in October and is not yet listed in their literature. Other than the package, we pre-booked a catamaran excursion in Puerto Vallarta.
This was a good cabin. It is in the back of the ship so there is little hallway traffic to worry about. There is only a shower instead of the usual bathtub which I actually preferred. The sofa does not make a bed, so it is shorter than some others I have seen on HA.
