We chose this cruise for Thanksgiving week over a year ago. We are celebrating our 50th anniversary & wanted to take our kids, their spouses,& our grandson. We knew the price would be higher since it was a holiday but that was a non-fiction at the time. Our frustrations began when Carnival changed the itinerary due to propulsion problems with the Liberty. Instead of going to Jamaica, Grand Cayman, & Cozumel we would only be going to Cozumel & now, Costa Maya. Disappointing but totally within the cruise contract. They offered us $50 on board credit plus 25% off a future cruise or a refund if we wanted to cancel. The problem was lack of communication when it came to cancelling & re-scheduling shore excursions, boarding times, & the fact that we would be losing half a day of the cruise due to the ship arriving back hours late from the previous cruise.

However, boarding was smooth, we loved our staterooms & away we went. Positives of the week included a wonderful dinner in the steakhouse, some extremely outgoing staff members, really good drinks especially at Alchemy Bar, dining room entertainment, &our surprise pleasant experience at Costa Maya. Now ever the negatives were huge. Our Thanksgiving dinner resulted in a huge wait for food & when it came it was cold & processed turkey (like lunch meat with cold gravy over it).

Also we had a large group of out of control teenagers who were not controlled by parents or security. They threw things off the ship that frequently ended up on our balconies, they jumped into the adult pool from the deck above, & one even hung off the side of the ship twice & was caught on video.

Cabin Review

Aft-View Extended Balcony

Cabin 8M

It had a huge wrap around balcony & was very private & quiet.
