HAL is trying to attract a younger generation (millenials). The decor was beautiful and upscale.

It is my opinion that HAL should continue to target the older market. Focus on the niche they have now and continue to excel at it. There will always be older customers coming up through the ranks who will be in search of the quieter cruises.

The food was excellent but getting to the food was a challenge especially in the Lido Market. You had to wait to be served and not everything was available at each station so if you wanted a few pieces of cheese to with your bread, you had to go to two stations. The plates are small so you end up carrying more that one plate. A constant juggling act. Also the area is "tight" so when it is at a peak meal time, you are dodging other passengers, walkers and scooters while trying to find what you would like to eat. There is only two ways to cross to the other side of the Lido...at the foward end and the other is to cut through the elevator lobby at the stern end. The main dining room is very noisy and the servers have to walk far distances with heavy trays. There did not appear to be any main aisles so you weaved in and out of tables with people already eating their dinners.

Cabin Review

Standard Interior Stateroom

Cabin J

I had an inside cabin on deck 7. It was cozy but had lots of storage and had everything I needed as a solo traveller. It was quite comfortable and LOVED the shower! I had read about issues with the toilets being close to the shower wall. This was not a factor in my cabin and I'm 5'11". However, in visiting an aft facing veranda cabin, they definitely had a issue....seems that the wall that the toilet is mounted to had a sharper angle and configuration.
