Hawaii is expensive, we researched the cost and our booking agent said the same and worth it to see the Islands and amazing scenery and views….a trip of a life time for us to celebrate our 25th Wedding Anniversary. If you want to see/tour the Islands at each port, have a few cocktails, buy souvenirs, plan on spending between $7,000 - $10,000 Canadian, including cruise, flight, meals and hotel for 2, depending on the cabin you chose, we had the cheapest inside, inside on deck 4, as we new we would basically just be sleeping there. We got what we paid for on the Cruise, our gratuities were included and no extra taxes or charges for and inside, inside cabin on deck 4. The food was decent…breakfast always the same offerings, Americana coffee was the best, diner was different every night with a huge variety, we didn’t go to the up graded restaurants you had to pay for, the wait staff was usually good to great removing the buffet plates and most friendly in the Aloha cafe. The ship entertainment, comedian and magician we saw were good. Pool tiny and loaded with kids, hard to use it, 4 hot tubs full of the same drinkers every day, lots of drunks drinking in the sun all day near there, in the elevators and walking around… not for us! We tried to see sun rises on the top decks, almost every morning, too much fog or rain, sun sets were amazing!! Best advise for booking tours, don't pre book, the weather can be foggy and raining, there are plenty of tours waiting either at the port or in town, even city buses. We did book "The Road to Hana" in Maui, a friend said it wasn't to be missed, but it was super windy, foggy and raining, saw a few water falls and lunch for $200 each. Maui port is the longest away from town, a 20 minute walk, or grab a taxi. Great tips from on the ship, Information session given each morning you arrive at a new port, held on the deck near the pool, on how to get around and what to see on the Island. We attended them all after Maui. We took the city bus to "Lahaina" in Maui, $4 round trip each from the Mall….we went to the beach for most of the day and lots of shopping close to the beach, biggest Banyan tree in Hawaii there, don’t buy souvenirs there, they are much cheaper at other Islands and if you like, there is a free Walmart shuttle in Kauai and a Costco, we didn’t to either, but heard it was super cheap for Macadamia Nuts. We loved the beaches on Kona, Kauai and Honolulu the best, spent most of our time there and all easy to get to with Hop on and off bus or free shuttles to shopping and local markets with hand made and much cheaper priced jewellery and near beaches. We went to the Paradise Cove Luau in Honolulu, it’s on the beach about half hour away from Waikiki….best sun set there, colours changed every few minutes, pic’s are like postcards! The food was just average, as we heard the same from others that went to different Luau’s and the Luau show was fantastic, except the interaction they ask you to do with people on the tour bus and at your table….too much for us, but very happy with the rest. The hotel we stayed at “Pacific Beach” best shrimp diner there and is directly across from the gorgeous sand Waikiki beach, our rooms had spectacular ocean views for $275 a night. Go towards closer Diamond head shops for cheaper souvenirs, the same ones are much more around the Hilton and Hyatt. We saw amazing aerial views of Hawaii on the lobby TV’s, as I’m scared of heights to take the helicopter tours. We would go again; probably choosing Oahu to go back to all those amazing beaches we saw on our 8 hour tour with “Roberts tours”, our driver was fantastic with knowledge and places we stopped. We also stayed 1 night before and 1 night after the cruise in Honolulu, totalling 3 days, as our flight out was at 12 midnight, we paid for a shuttle to get us to the hotel, port and back to airport, they make lots of pick ups and drop offs, allow an extra half hour to your trip, you see lots though. Hawaiian water is rated #2 in North America, it tasted great everywhere and didn't make us sick, fill up your water bottles for excursions. We had a great memorable vacation!

Cabin Review

Adequate, we got what we paid for with an inside, inside cabin on deck 4. Couldn't feel the ship move too much being on that deck. Our room was always made up when we asked and enough room to put our belongings away in closets and cupboards. Water pressure was great with soft water, my medium length hair felt very soft with the water.

Port Reviews

Kauai

Free shuttle picked you up and returned you, at the ship port to shopping plaza and beach. Ocean was beach were fantastic, love riding the waves. Toured the amazing gardens at The Marriott hotel, right on the beach with the biggest pool and koi pond in North America. Little market behind the plaza had great deals for hand made goods and jewellery. Loved it!!

Hilo

Hop on and off bus to market shoping and very tiny Black sand beach with lots of turtles to see.
