We have only cruised twice before and both times we were on the Disney Fantasy. We had high expectations for Royal Caribbean based on feedback from friends. We splurged for a junior suite on Enchantment of the Seas (7666). I will say this, It was a GREAT layout, HUGE balcony and it was so nice to have a walk-in closet. However, the ship is in a very "tired" condition. Stains on carpet throughout the ship. Our bedding had stains. The balcony had great furniture but the body of the ship is rusting and crusty. The furniture is pickled oak, circa 1990. The bar stools and chairs in the lounges are in bad shape. Some of them wobbled enough to where passengers chose to not sit on them.

The staff was not particularly friendly. Many acted robotic when we asked questions or tried to interact with them. I guess we are accustom to Disney where the employees literally stop what they are doing to greet you as you pass them. It's all in the little details.... Some people like that attention. Some people may not.

The food was the biggest disappointment. Windjammer reminded us of a Golden Corral or Shoney's buffet. It was REALLY low quality food. I am celiac and made the ship aware before our cruise. There was absolutely no modifications in place to ensure I had adequate choices, let alone protection from cross contamination. I had to play Russian Roulette when it came to eating. Pretty much ate baked potatoes and salad. My Fair Lady was not much better. My first steak was ordered medium but was solid red inside. I noticed when my second steak came, it looked to be the same shape and form as the first one...just cooked to well done. I'm pretty sure it was Sysco steak. It had a very salty flavor, spongy texture and artificial grill marks on it. Pretty much cafeteria meals.

Junior Suite with Balcony

Cabin JS

Room is great size. The balcony is HUGE and has 2 lounge chairs, 2 tables and 2 sitting chairs. You could literally entertain on the balcony. We loved that it was on the corner and very private. It was also an extremely quite room with no foot traffic past our door. The furniture, sofa's, bedding, etc are all tired and outdated but the balcony makes up for it. We never heard any noise from the club below our room.

We took a taxi to Atlantis to walk around. No much to see unless you purchase a day pass which is VERY expensive. We ended up eating lunch at Olives in the Atlantis Casino. We then took a taxi back to the ship.
