We (my wife and I) were on the Magic cruise from Nov. 25th- Dec 3rd. This is a no frills, cruise line. Let me say we have been on many, many cruises and I have never had the need to complain to guest services about a cruise like this one. The guest services rep did not even try to understand or accept the constructive feedback we gave. They just quoted policy and lacked any understanding of our criticism. Pick another cruise line, one that actually cares about their guests like Disney, RC or NCL.
Issues started with the soda package I bought for two. DO NOT waste your money, either bring the cans/plastic on board or buy them on board. For the money I spent on the packages you don’t even get cups like RC. They were an extra $5 each. You have to get all soda fills from the bars, very inconvenient when you are eating at the buffet, Guys Burgers, Pig Barbecue, buffet, etc. With NCL the dispenser is adjacent to the food and RC has the new coke machine at each food location. The real kicker? The bars wanted you to sign a check and added a 10 cent tax for this free soda (said something about being in certain waters or some BS). DO NOT sign it.
We had a balcony cabin on deck 7. These balcony cabins have balcony doors that open on each side. We were in our cabin around 9:30 AM getting ready after breakfast and were shocked to see man on our balcony with a hose spraying down the deck and windows. We had stored one of our empty suitcases out there that got wet. When I opened the door to see what was going on, I saw that all the balcony doors were open down the ship as he went from one balcony to another. Anyone could have easily slipped into our cabin or another cabin and be in and out without anyone seeing. Had to throw the dead bolt on the balcony door from the inside for security and close the curtain for privacy.
Cabin was average. See comments about balcony
Easy to get into the port. A real chore to get out of it.
