The Oasis is a great ship with some terrific spaces. Unfortunately, it is crowded after Thanksgiving (until Easter I am told).

Other than Chops Steakhouse ($pecialty restaurant) the food was very ordinary. We experienced long waits for dinner at times. We were turned away the first night and were told to come back in an hour only to wait in another line. After the first night things did improve. I recommend a reserved seating time and possibly a specialty restaurant for the first evening. Dinners were also rushed a bit (seemed like they wanted to turn tables quickly). We had to ask the staff to slow down on two nights.

The shows were very good but some were standing room only. We had to make reservations for all shows and people competed for seats. Of course, some were turned away. If we had not been alerted to this by friends, we probably would have missed a couple of the better shows. Make reservations well in advance for everything!

We liked our room and enjoyed the ocean view balcony.

Port Reviews

St. Maarten

We went to watch the planes land at Maho Beach. Kind of cool but it was a long ride only to find the beach over crowded (with some topless ladies). We preferred the boardwalk which is much closer to the ships. Good shopping with lots of restaurants and beach activities.
