The Oasis of the Seas is truly an engineering wonder, magnificent to see and very well run when you consider the number of passengers onboard. We have been on her sister ship Allure of the Seas so knew what to expect as far as crowds, lines at elevators, etc. go. Our stateroom was very nice, but in retrospect I would get a starboard side balcony, as our port side was continuously in the sun. Cleanliness - check; personable stateroom attendant - check; location mid-ship - check. Entertainment was frustrating but sometimes through no fault of Royal Caribbean - twice our Aqua Theatre show was cancelled (unsafe conditions); and the Cats show was cancelled (performer injuries) totally on Saturday. In addition to the cancellations during the cruise I was dismayed to find the shows I had chosen online months out, and which for several weeks continued to be listed on my reservation, suddenly vanished which left me with no show reservations except (ironically) Cats. I spent hours on the phone talking to Royal Caribbean attempting to regain my original reservation dates and times. RCCL's IT explanation was there was some sort of system error that caused the problem; however, the only way for me to re- reserve dates/times was to do so onboard. This translated into huge waits in huge lines on day 1. My advice to you is when you make your show time reservations on Oasis or similar ships get a reservations confirmation hardcopy!

My Time Dining is great in theory but poor in application. Get reservations either before you board or quickly once you get onboard. These seating times also vanish. Finally, the only shore excursion we reserved was to take a tour of St. John (Virgin Islands National Park). Because of extremely limited time ashore in St. Thomas, and the ferry "Island Girl" being late, we had no time to explore St. John on foot or even go to the Visitors Center for the park. We were basically crammed into a holding area awaiting our late ferry, then crammed into open air taxis and then rushed back to the ferry. I believe this is poor planning on the part of RCCL to bring in a ship at 11 a.m., permit passengers to disembark around 11:30 or 12:00 and then sail away in just a few hours - the ferry ride was at least 90 minutes out of that time! So if you are considering this excursion, you may get your money's worth elsewhere. I am quick to choose Royal Caribbean for the several cruises we take each year, but believe there needs to be some fine tuning with My Time dining, show reservations and the tightly scheduled shore excursion to St. John. Overall the cruise was a positive experience with polished personnel and endless opportunities to discover new facets of an Oasis cruise. But it needs work.
