We'd never been to Roatan or Belize so we tried this cruise. We've cruised Carnival before, including Sunshine. We'd love more time on Roatan, but Belize, at least the little we saw, is a place we don't want to visit again.

The crew was great. The food was better than we expected and Ausrine, Putu, and Pande gave us great service and made dinner fun. Our excursion to the Mayan ruins of Chacchoban with Guide Daniel was excellent; we highly recommend him and the tour.

Our cabin was on the first deck, #1605. It was so noisy I couldn't sleep. Customer Service Rep. Irena was fantastic about finding us another cabin that was quiet. Our steward Ikhwan was great.

Cabin 6D

Toilet malfunctioned. Plumber came promptly, but "delayed flushing" continued throughout cruise. Shower curtain was too small for shower. Window had corrosion around it and at first we thought the moisture was condensation but it wasn't. The window actually leaked.

Cabin steward Ikhwan was helpful and attentive; bed pillows were small and flat and he found us some better ones. Also, duvet was very heavy so he got us some blankets.

Port Reviews

Belize City

There was a very long wait to board a tender to Belize. The tender itself was hot and noisy. The port area was very crowded and the city outside the port area seemed even more crowded. We returned to the ship almost immediately.

Roatan

The port seemed designed to keep passengers isolated in that one area. We were okay with that on this trip since we liked the beach so much. We hope to go back and explore the island further.

Cozumel

We liked Cozumel. We found a few peaceful spots to just relax and take in the lovely spot and beautiful day. Shopping was fun, too.

Port Canaveral (Orlando)

The port area is easy to get to. We live in Florida so we drive to and park at the port. We paid to park in the garage and, once inside, discovered we'd be parking on the top level, which is open to the elements. Had we known that, we'd have parked in a regular lot, for less money. Live and learn.
