First cruise experience. Everything went really well. Arrived in Galveston and parked in a Port of Galveston parking lot ($50 for 5-day cruise parking). Bus drove us to the main terminal. Check in process went smooth. There were lots of people so lines were inevitable. Once aboard the ship, we went to our balcony stateroom and met our housekeeping porter, Sicilo. Sicilo did a great job the entire trip and always had a smile. The room was very clean and the ocean balcony was awesome. The food was incredibly good. All areas of the ship, bar, casino, clubs, were very clean with staff promptly removing dirty plates. There was a culture of cleanliness among staff members. We attended several ship board activities that were very good. The performers in the shows were true professionals who had great pride in their performances. The shore excursions were arranged by ship personnel and we were not disappointed. The snorkel and beach trip to Cozumel was outstanding as was the city trip to Merida (from Progresso). Carnival is to be congratulated for an outstanding job. Being first time cruisers, we didn't know what to expect. Carnival did a great job. Thank you.
