We knew this was an older ship, but the price was right and the ports of call were interesting. Also, we've been on the mega ships and are a bit tired of the floating malls. We were looking forward to enjoy the real cruise feeling of the smaller ships again. We were not disappointed.
The ship was in great shape. A little wear and tear in places, but everything works. The cabin we had was very quiet, had lots of storage and the shower was great. Good water pressure, nice hot and no temperature fluctuations like we often find in newer ships.
With the exception of one guy at the future cruise sales desk, the crew was very friendly and eager to please. Outstanding was the diningroom service (Tatiana, Jan and Maria - we love you). Entertainment was average, and the cruise director was excellent. If there is any improvements that could be made, its in the entertainment venue. It does look ancient.
This cabin is mid ship on the fourth floor. This is a good location with little motion and generally very quiet (except one can hear staff walking on the outside deck, but mostly only during evenings).
The heating/cooling is a bit difficult to regulate. There is a very small range on the thermostat to regulate the temperature. Lots and lots of closets and drawers. Flat TV works good. Only one US electric plug, and it was a bit loose. Suggest you bring a tape to fix your charger to the socket. Shower is tops. Hot, powerfull and steady. Bring your own soap and shampoo if you need something better than the made in China (low or no foam) stuff.
